Are Minnetonka knee-hi lace-up boots still in style?

I ordered a pair of brown ones online and I'm waiting for them to arrive but I'm not sure if they are still in style. Also, give me your opinion if you like brown or black suede better. I'm still debating about the color too and I have an equal amount of outfits that would match either so it's kinda difficult to choose.
