Why are some people so jealous about other people's happiness?

Why is it you can't be completely in love with someone without there being some people who hate it, and find PDA and all the sweet and sometimes overdone sentimental stuff disgusting?? Why is it so bad, when any normal person would understand that the people in love are in love and they're not gonna make sense to them unless they appeciate that.
