What will happen if you are pulled over and the insurance card you gave the officer was expired in llinois?

I got puller over on I-294 for speeding, when i got pulled over the insurance card i gave the officer was expired and i did not know that until he wrote me tickets for speeding and driving without insurance. I had the recent insurance in my car. I offered to show the recent insurance to the officer, but he kept shouting at me and threatened to arrest me and tow my car.. i had no choice other than to take the ticket. During the whole time he kept shouting at me and he was like you have no respect for what i do. I did not say anything disrespectful during this whole time. All i said was im sorry officer and i shouldn't have going that fast. I did not even ask him not to write me a ticket. I do not know what was wrong with that state trooper.
